About this asset

This Countrytrax Midday equirectangular HDRI map provides high-contrast, clear-sky natural lighting for 3D exterior visualisations. The environment map captures a wide-open rural landscape under a bright midday sun. The scene features a dry, grassy field stretching towards a distant tree line, creating a natural horizon. The lighting is characterised by strong, direct overhead illumination with a distinct sun position, producing sharp shadows and high-contrast highlights. The sky is a clear, deep blue, providing a clean backdrop for architectural models. This equirectangular projection ensures seamless 360-degree coverage, allowing for consistent lighting and reflections across any 3D scene, making it suitable for both realistic daylight renders and background plates in architectural projects.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this file, load the.hdr map into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Rotate the map along the horizontal axis to align the sun position with your model's desired lighting direction. Adjust the exposure or intensity settings within your renderer to fine-tune the brightness, ensuring the light levels complement your scene's materials and geometry while maintaining the intended high-contrast aesthetic of the midday sun.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations of rural residences, agricultural buildings, or landscape design projects where a bright, sunny atmosphere is required. It pairs effectively with grass scattering assets and natural building materials like timber or stone. Professionals searching for naturalistic, high-contrast outdoor lighting environments will find this map useful for setting a realistic, sun-drenched mood in midday scenes. It integrates seamlessly into workflows requiring consistent global illumination for wide-angle shots or ground-level perspectives in open, unshaded environments.
