About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map captures a narrow European cobblestone street at night with warm artificial lighting. The environment map provides a 360-degree night scene featuring traditional cobblestone paving and multi-storey residential buildings. The lighting is dominated by warm artificial street lamps, creating high-contrast pools of light and deep, cool-toned shadows. The composition includes parked vehicles and architectural facades with visible textures, offering realistic reflections for 3D renders. The panoramic data captures the atmospheric quality of a quiet urban evening, with the dark sky providing a neutral backdrop that allows the warm light sources to define the spatial depth and material highlights of the scene.

The download is a 6.7 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this equirectangular HDR file directly into the world environment or dome light slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the exposure and gamma settings to balance the intensity of the warm street lamps against the ambient night sky. For optimal results, align the rotation of the map to match your camera angle and use the background as a primary light source for reflections on shiny surfaces like vehicle paint or glass facades.

Ideal for architectural visualisations requiring authentic night-time urban settings, this map serves as both a background and a light source for exterior scenes. It is particularly effective for residential projects or street-level perspectives where warm, localized lighting is needed to enhance the mood. Professionals will find this asset useful for populating exterior environment slots in software like V-Ray, Corona, or Octane when aiming to achieve realistic nocturnal lighting conditions without complex manual setups for street lamps and ambient shadows.
