About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic natural lighting for architectural renders, featuring a sunny urban courtyard. This high-dynamic-range environment map captures a bright, clear-sky day within a structured urban courtyard. The panoramic view features a paved plaza with red and grey brickwork patterns, flanked by multi-story commercial buildings with stone facades and glass windows. A central bronze sculpture acts as a focal point, while the surrounding architecture creates a contained, semi-enclosed space. The lighting conditions are consistent with a clear midday sun, providing strong directional light, sharp shadow definition, and realistic ambient reflections suitable for populating exterior architectural scenes with accurate, high-contrast environmental illumination.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings to align the sun position with your scene geometry. For optimal results, ensure your project's gamma settings are correctly configured to preserve the dynamic range, allowing the map to function as both a primary light source and a background plate for realistic material reflections on glass and metallic surfaces.

Ideal for architectural visualisations requiring authentic daylight, this map works well in residential, hospitality, and commercial project renders. It is particularly effective for exterior plaza designs, courtyard developments, and urban masterplanning presentations. Professionals can use this asset to quickly establish a natural lighting context for models of buildings, street furniture, or public realm improvements. It pairs seamlessly with urban-focused 3D assets, providing a neutral yet detailed backdrop that enhances the realism of exterior daylighting studies during the concept or final production stages.
