About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic natural forest lighting featuring a shaded grotto, waterfall, and pool. The environment captures a serene natural grotto setting, characterised by a small waterfall cascading into a clear, tranquil pool. Large, weathered stone boulders frame the water's edge, surrounded by dense, lush forest vegetation. The lighting is soft and diffuse, typical of a shaded woodland area, providing consistent low-contrast illumination without harsh highlights. This high-dynamic-range map preserves the subtle cool tones of the water and the deep, organic greens of the foliage, making it an effective choice for projects requiring a grounded, naturalistic background and balanced environmental light.

The download is a 6.9 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot to establish immediate scene illumination and background reflections. Because the map contains high-dynamic-range data, it will drive global illumination, producing accurate soft shadows and ambient light based on the forest canopy and water features. Adjust the rotation to align the brightest light source with your primary scene elements, and scale the background projection as needed to match the perspective of your architectural or landscape composition.

This asset is suitable for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design presentations, and naturalistic scene building. It works well in projects requiring a peaceful, secluded atmosphere, such as park designs, residential garden retreats, or hospitality resorts. Professionals can use this map to provide realistic environmental reflections on water surfaces or glass, enhancing the depth of outdoor renders. Search for this file when developing nature-focused scenes that require soft, ambient forest lighting and a detailed, immersive background for ground-level or eye-level camera shots.
