About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map features a realistic forestry clearing and dirt road under a soft, overcast sky. The environment map captures a wide-angle, 360-degree view of a rural forestry clearing. The scene is dominated by a central dirt road branching into the landscape, flanked by dense tree lines and rough, uneven ground. In the distance, a prominent pylon stands against an overcast sky filled with soft, diffused cloud cover. The lighting profile is neutral and low-contrast, typical of a midday setting under heavy cloud, providing consistent, soft illumination without harsh shadows. This environment is ideal for placing objects in a raw, industrial, or rural natural setting.

The download is a 6.5 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this HDR file, load it directly into your primary environment or world lighting slot within your rendering engine. Because it is an equirectangular projection, it will map automatically to the spherical background of your scene. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings to align the light direction with your specific camera angle and model orientation. This map provides a stable, diffuse light source that works effectively for both exterior visualisations and testing materials in varied natural lighting conditions.

This asset is suitable for architectural visualisations requiring a realistic, non-idealised rural environment. It works well for projects involving landscape design, industrial site planning, or infrastructure developments where a rugged, natural backdrop is necessary. Professionals often use this to ground exterior scenes or to provide realistic reflections on metallic and glass surfaces of vehicles or machinery placed within the clearing. Use this when searching for authentic, raw outdoor environments that avoid the overly dramatic lighting found in many stock HDR packs.
