About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map features an overcast autumn forest with a calm stream, providing soft, natural lighting. This high-dynamic-range environment map captures a woodland scene during an overcast day, resulting in diffused, low-contrast illumination. The composition includes mature deciduous trees with bare branches, a dense layer of leaf litter on the forest floor, and a small, calm stream winding through the terrain. A wooden observation structure is visible in the distance, adding a man-made element to the natural setting. The colour palette is dominated by muted browns, deep earth tones, and soft grey sky light, typical of late autumn weather conditions in a temperate forest environment.

The download is a 7.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI in your rendering engine, load the file into the environment or background lighting slot. Since the map contains full spherical data, it will provide global illumination and reflections for your scene. Adjust the exposure or intensity values to match your specific project requirements, ensuring the soft, overcast light is balanced correctly against any artificial light sources you may have added to your 3D model. The equirectangular format ensures seamless projection across the entire 360-degree sky dome.

This environment map is suitable for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design presentations, and film production backgrounds where a natural, muted woodland setting is required. It pairs well with projects involving rustic structures, cabin designs, or outdoor park developments. Professionals searching for realistic forest backdrops, overcast lighting conditions for soft shadows, or autumnal atmosphere for site-specific renderings will find this asset useful. It is particularly effective for setting the mood in late-stage design development or final presentation imagery for residential or public landscape projects.
