About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI map captures an abandoned industrial tank farm at golden hour, providing realistic natural lighting. The environment features a sprawling, desolate brownfield landscape characterized by sandy soil mounds, sparse vegetation, and weathered brick structures. The scene is illuminated by the soft, directional light of a late afternoon sun, casting long, gentle shadows across the uneven terrain. The sky is a clear, gradient blue typical of a crisp day, offering moderate contrast that defines the textures of the earth and masonry. This 360-degree panorama provides a cohesive, high-dynamic-range light source, ensuring consistent reflections and ambient occlusion for exterior architectural visualizations or industrial set-dressing projects.

The download is a 5.7 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file directly into the environment slot of your preferred rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your model's orientation, and fine-tune the exposure value to balance the ambient light with your artificial scene elements. Because this map contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive realistic highlights and soft shadows on your scene geometry, significantly reducing the time required for manual lighting setups in exterior visualization workflows.

Ideal for architectural visualizations of industrial regeneration projects, brownfield site redevelopment, or post-apocalyptic scene design. This environment pairs effectively with weathered concrete, rusted metal assets, and heavy machinery models. Professionals working on landscape masterplans, urban planning, or film set extensions will find this asset useful for establishing a believable, gritty atmosphere. It is particularly effective for shots requiring a low-angle sun, where the long shadows and warm, golden-hour light help to ground 3D objects within a realistic, expansive outdoor context.
