About this asset

Traditional timber casement window Revit family featuring deep projecting surrounds, divided lites, and articulated reveals for heritage facade assemblies. Modelled after regional Indian vernacular fenestration, this assembly incorporates thick rectangular outer wall casings that project forward from the exterior surface plane. Inside the primary masonry opening sits a dark-stained wood sash frame arranged with multi-pane glazed casement leaves and operable upper clerestory transoms. The outer masonry frames display bold contrasting finishes, including deep cobalt blue and warm yellow ochre tones, replicating regional render techniques. Slender mullions subdivide the glazing into vertical proportions, while deep interior jambs and exterior sills provide authentic shadow lines across wall elevations.

The download is a 2.6 MB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

Load the RFA component directly into your project environment and host it within any vertical system wall. The family cuts clean host voids across compound masonry or plastered walls without manual wall opening tools. Assign materials to individual subcomponents in the type properties to coordinate glass transparency, exterior plaster colours, and internal joinery finishes for scheduling and visual output.

Suited for historic preservation, contextual hospitality retreats, resort villas, and cultural civic buildings, this fenestration asset enriches vernacular facade studies and elevation drawings. Designers can implement this family when modelling dense urban streetscapes, boutique heritage hotels, or riverside courtyards where distinctive window reveals establish authentic local character. It coordinates naturally with lime plaster, exposed brickwork, stone paving, and handcrafted wooden architectural woodwork in detailed residential and commercial documentation.
