About this asset

This grey stone landscape rock is a Revit family asset designed for site planning, providing a natural boulder form for exterior scenes. This landscape rock features an irregular, organic form characteristic of natural stone boulders. The geometry is defined by a faceted mesh surface, suitable for representing site features in both plan and 3D views. Its texture appears weathered with a neutral grey tone, appropriate for integration into various planting schemes or hardscape designs. The proportions are compact, making it versatile for placement as a standalone feature or grouped with other landscaping elements to create naturalistic clusters within a site model. The object provides a simple, clean representation of stone for general site context.

The download is a 61 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

In Revit, this rock family is managed as a site component. Users can load the RFA file directly into a project or site template, placing it on the topography surface. The geometry is lightweight, ensuring minimal impact on project file size. Because it is a standard family, it can be easily rotated or mirrored to vary the visual appearance across a site plan, and materials can be adjusted through the object properties to match specific project site conditions.

This asset is intended for exterior site development in residential, public park, or commercial landscaping projects. It is useful during the concept and design development stages to populate site plans, master plans, and rendered exterior perspectives. Professionals might search for this when looking to populate garden beds, defining pathways, or adding naturalistic detail to retaining walls and water features. It pairs well with generic planting families or custom topography surfaces to create realistic outdoor environments for client presentations and site documentation.
