Engineered for perimeter heating, this modern Revit family depicts a recessed in-floor trench convector with exposed pipe connections and finned element. Recessed directly into the floor structure, this linear trench convector unit features an elongated sheet metal casing housing an internal finned-tube heat exchanger coil alongside integrated hydronic pipework. One end of the enclosure contains detailed pipe fittings, including shut-off valves with distinct colored lever handles for supply and return connections. The dense, regular array of heat exchange fins extends along the length of the trough, engineered to deliver convective warm air washing against exterior curtain walls and glazed doors without obstructing floor-to-ceiling window views.
The download is a 2.1 MB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.
In Autodesk Revit, load this RFA component directly into your mechanical or architectural project to coordinate perimeter floor voids and heating layouts. Position the unit within floor build-ups adjacent to glazed facades, aligning sub-floor depths with architectural slab cutouts. Connect supply and return hydronic piping to the modelled connection points, and verify clearance for recessed floor grilles during multidisciplinary clash detection.
Designed specifically for perimeter heat distribution, this floor-mounted radiator suits contemporary residential living areas, commercial office spaces, hotel suites, and glazed lobbies with full-height glazing. It pairs naturally with curtain wall systems, large sliding patio doors, and stone or tile floor finishes where wall-mounted panel radiators cannot be accommodated. Common searches include trench heater, in-floor convector, hydronic perimeter radiator, and recessed floor heating unit.
