Engineered for surface water runoff, this Revit family catch basin features a ribbed grey polymer basin topped with a slotted cast iron grate. The unit comprises a deep, cubical sump basin moulded in structural grey polymer, reinforced with external horizontal and vertical stiffening ribs. Around the top perimeter, an integrated heavy-gauge frame supports a slotted black cast iron traffic-rated grate fastened securely above the channel rim. Structural anchorage lugs protrude from the frame corners for concrete embedment. The side face features stepped knockouts and circular pipe connection bosses of varying diameters near the base, allowing flexible tie-ins for sub-surface storm drain pipes, sediment retention, and high-capacity stormwater collection.
The download is a 932 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.
Load this RFA component directly into your Revit project to coordinate sitework and plumbing layouts. Insert the family into exterior ground planes or paved floor slabs, aligning top-of-grate levels flush with finished hardscape elevations. Connect civil stormwater or plumbing pipe runs to the designated subgrade conduit locations to test gravity flow, verify slopes, and run clash detection against foundations, structural footings, and underground utilities.
Essential for commercial facilities, industrial parks, parking decks, loading docks, and educational campuses requiring robust surface water drainage. This catch basin pairs with trench drains, concrete curbing, asphalt paving, and site utility networks across schematic design through construction documentation. Civil engineers, landscape architects, and plumbing coordinators searching for area drains, yard inlets, storm sewer basins, and sediment sumps can specify this fixture to document accurate site drainage systems.
