Modern Linear LED Stair Downlight

This modern linear LED downlight is a Revit family designed for recessed integration into open-riser stair stringers. Engineered as a sleek, low-profile linear luminaire, this fixture provides focused downward illumination suitable for highlighting individual stair treads. The housing is typically finished in a neutral white to blend with contemporary interior palettes, though the geometry allows for flexible integration into various stair materials including timber, stone, or metal. Its slim form factor is specifically intended for concealed mounting along the underside of stair nosings or within the stringer assembly, ensuring the light source remains discreet while delivering a clean, uniform wash of warm light across the tread surface below.

The download is a 205 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

In Revit, this luminaire family is designed for host-based placement, allowing architects to snap the light source directly onto the stair stringer or tread geometry. Users should adjust the light offset parameters to fine-tune the throw of the light and ensure proper coverage. The family includes adjustable light source definitions, enabling designers to modify the IES profile to achieve accurate photometric analysis and realistic rendering results within the project environment using standard Revit rendering settings or external plugins.
