About this asset

This Japanese tea room interior scene for SketchUp features a low dark-wood table, floor cushions, and extensive integrated shelving. The scene presents a serene, traditional-inspired tea room defined by light-toned timber panelling and cabinetry. A central low-profile table in a dark, rich wood provides a strong focal point, contrasted by circular floor cushions in a neutral, textured fabric. The rear wall is occupied by floor-to-ceiling shelving units with a mix of open display spaces and closed storage drawers. Subtle integrated lighting highlights the shelves, while a large window with shoji-style screens overlooks a private garden, grounding the space in a minimalist, calming aesthetic suitable for quiet contemplation or social gatherings.

The download is a 86.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Designed for rapid conceptualisation, this SketchUp model is pre-configured with geometry and materials, allowing users to drop it directly into a larger project file or use it as a standalone base for visualisation. The file structure allows for easy manipulation of individual components, such as the table or shelving, to adjust layouts or swap materials. Users can leverage the native layer system to toggle specific elements or adjust lighting settings to match their specific render engine requirements during the final production stage.

This asset is ideal for residential interior design projects, boutique hotel lobbies, or wellness centres requiring a tranquil, high-end atmosphere. It pairs well with other minimalist or Japanese-inspired furniture collections. Professionals can use this scene to quickly establish a mood for client presentations or as a detailed background for architectural renders. It is particularly useful when searching for authentic cultural interior styles, tatami-influenced room layouts, or high-quality wood-centric joinery details for contemporary, serene environments in both commercial and private settings.
