Japanese Minimalist Tea Room Interior Scene

This Japanese minimalist tea room interior scene for SketchUp features an elevated timber platform and integrated shelving units. Defined by a serene, disciplined aesthetic, this tea room interior centers around a raised timber platform that serves as the primary seating area. The space utilizes a balanced material palette, contrasting warm, natural-toned wood joinery with cool, dark grey marble-effect floor tiles. A grid-like shelving system spans the rear wall, providing structured display areas for decor and books. The central alcove is highlighted by recessed lighting, creating a focal point for the floor-standing plant. Clean lines and understated proportions characterize the entire composition, offering a tranquil atmosphere suitable for contemplative or social environments.

The download is a 115 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Users can leverage this SketchUp scene as a foundational environment for interior visualisations. The model is structured with lighting and materiality already applied, allowing for immediate rendering tests or further refinement of the scene's mood. When incorporating this into a larger project, consider adjusting the light intensity or swapping out the decorative objects within the shelving units to suit specific design narratives. Ensure the texture mapping remains consistent if scaling the platform geometry to fit custom floor plans.
