About this asset

This vintage 3ds Max model of a brass and wood desk telephone features a classic rotary-style dial and an integrated handset. Rendered with attention to period detail, this vintage desk telephone features a polished wood base and a metallic brass body. The design includes a traditional rotary dial layout, a cradle-mounted handset with a wood-accented grip, and a coiled cord connecting the receiver to the main unit. The model captures the characteristic profile of early twentieth-century communication devices, emphasizing the contrast between the warm wood tones and the reflective brass hardware. It is presented as a single cohesive unit, suitable for close-up visualisations where authentic historical styling is required for interior scene dressing.

The download is a 27.1 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When working in 3ds Max, this asset is best handled as a standalone prop within your scene hierarchy. Users should ensure the model is scaled correctly to match the surrounding furniture, such as desks or side tables. Given the metallic and wood surfaces, applying appropriate reflection and gloss maps will enhance the realism of the brass components. The asset can be easily positioned using standard transformation tools, and its manageable file size ensures it remains efficient for inclusion in larger interior design projects.

This model is ideal for adding character to period-inspired interior designs, particularly in residential studies, hotel lobbies, or executive office settings. It serves as an effective decorative accent on writing desks, sideboards, or library shelving units. Designers often use such assets to establish a nostalgic atmosphere in boutique retail environments or film set visualisations. It pairs well with leather-bound books, antique lamps, and classic wooden cabinetry, helping to ground a space in a specific historical or traditional aesthetic.
