Traditional Dark Wood Grandfather Clock

This traditional floor-standing grandfather clock is a high-detail SketchUp model featuring a dark wood casing and brass internal components. This classic timepiece features a tall, arched-top wooden cabinet with a dark, rich finish. The front is enclosed by clear glass panels, allowing a full view of the internal brass pendulum and weighted movement mechanism. The clock face is finished in a light cream tone with precise markers and slender hands, contrasting with the dark frame. A sturdy, rectangular base with moulded detailing provides a stable foundation. The design balances traditional proportions with elegant, clean lines, suitable for formal interiors requiring a focal point that combines mechanical interest with timeless aesthetic appeal.

The download is a 3.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this model into a SketchUp scene, place it as a standalone component to ensure its vertical orientation is maintained. Use the component's axes to align the base flush with the floor plane. The glass elements are mapped with transparency, so ensure the material opacity is adjusted if rendering with external plugins. Grouping the clock with other decorative elements helps manage layer visibility, especially in busy interior compositions where fine-tuning the lighting on the internal brass parts is necessary for realism.

Ideal for traditional residential living rooms, grand entrance halls, or sophisticated home libraries, this piece adds character to formal settings. It complements period-style interiors or eclectic spaces that incorporate vintage elements. Designers often place this in study areas or high-ceilinged galleries where its vertical presence is emphasised. Search for this asset when specifying classic decor, period furniture, or items that provide a focal point for transitional spaces. It pairs well with dark timber sideboards, leather armchairs, and formal area rugs.
