About this asset

This 3ds Max set features two traditional Asian roof sections with detailed ceramic tiling, timber framing, and integrated paper lanterns. This collection provides two distinct styles of traditional Asian roof eaves. The top unit features a straight-gabled profile with a decorative timber lattice fascia and two hanging spherical paper lanterns. The bottom unit showcases a more complex, curved-edge roof profile with traditional finial details at the corners. Both elements are constructed with grey ceramic-style clay tiles and light-toned timber support structures. The detailing reflects classic East Asian architectural forms, suitable for building facades, garden structures, or interior feature walls requiring authentic regional character and a high level of historical material accuracy.

The download is a 33.8 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 2 separate objects. Open it in 3ds Max; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, these units are best managed as grouped assets or individual blocks for ease of placement along building perimeters or structural headers. Ensure the pivot points are correctly aligned to the top of the wall or fascia line to facilitate snap-to-geometry positioning. Standard material slots should be assigned to the tile and timber components, allowing for adjustments to weathering or wood stains as required by your specific project render environment and overall lighting scheme.

These roof assets are essential for creating authentic exterior environments in hospitality designs, such as boutique hotels, tea houses, or landscaped garden pavilions. They are also effective for interior feature walls in themed retail or restaurant projects where a traditional aesthetic is desired. Professionals will find these useful when searching for architectural ornamentation, eaves details, or building facade components that evoke a classic oriental atmosphere. They pair well with stone paving, timber wall cladding, and minimalist exterior lighting fixtures.
