About this asset

This 3ds Max scene features a Scandinavian-style black wood rocking chair, a woven stool, a side table, and a floor lamp. The primary element is a spindle-back rocking chair finished in black, featuring a contoured grey fabric seat cushion. It is accompanied by a matching low stool with a woven seat, a small pedestal side table, and a slender floor lamp with a conical shade. The ensemble exhibits clean, minimalist lines typical of mid-century Nordic design, balancing dark wood frames with subtle textural contrasts. The pieces are arranged as a cohesive reading corner, emphasizing functional proportions and a restrained colour palette that integrates well into contemporary living spaces or quiet bedroom retreats.

The download is an 11.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) scene, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this collection is organised into logical layers for easy manipulation or individual object extraction. Users should check the pivot points of the rocking chair to ensure proper floor contact when animating or placing in a scene. Materials are applied as standard shaders, allowing for quick adjustments to wood grain or fabric textures. Lighting is set up to complement the minimalist aesthetic; adjust the global illumination settings to match your specific interior environment and render requirements.

This furniture grouping is suited for residential projects, particularly in living rooms, bedrooms, or dedicated home library spaces. It provides a ready-made reading nook that works well in both minimalist and contemporary schemes. Architects and interior designers might search for this as a lounge set, reading chair, or accent furniture for staging. It pairs effectively with neutral wall finishes, timber flooring, and soft ambient lighting, creating a comfortable focal point in any interior design scheme focused on Nordic or Japandi aesthetics.
