About this asset

This rectangular charcoal grey fabric area rug for 3ds Max features a subtle distressed texture suited for contemporary interior schemes. This rectangular area rug presents a deep charcoal grey surface with a fine, fabric-like texture. The design is characterised by a uniform, slightly distressed aesthetic that provides visual depth without complex patterns. Its proportions are standard for a versatile floor covering, suitable for defining seating zones or bedroom layouts. The edges are clean and sharp, maintaining a minimalist profile that sits flush against floor surfaces. The material mapping suggests a soft, short-pile textile finish, offering a neutral foundation that complements a wide range of interior palettes and modern furniture styles.

The download is a 3.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate this rug into a 3ds Max scene, simply merge the file into your project workspace. The geometry is provided as a flat, low-profile plane, allowing for easy placement on top of floor materials. Ensure the model is positioned slightly above the floor surface to prevent Z-fighting. Use standard material editors to adjust the fabric sheen or bump mapping to suit specific lighting conditions, and apply a high-quality displacement map if closer camera angles are required for your architectural visualisation renders.

This area rug is a staple for residential living rooms, bedrooms, and home office setups where a neutral, grounding element is needed. It works effectively under coffee tables or as an accent piece in a walk-in wardrobe. Professionals often search for this type of asset when layering textures in interior design projects to soften hard flooring surfaces like timber or concrete. It pairs well with minimalist furniture, mid-century seating, and contemporary interior layouts, providing a cohesive look across various high-end hospitality or residential building typologies.
