About this asset

This rectangular charcoal fabric area rug for 3ds Max features a subtle linear texture, providing a clean foundation for interior scenes. Designed as a low-profile rectangular floor covering, this rug presents a uniform charcoal tone with a fine, woven fabric texture. The surface is marked by faint, parallel linear striations that run the length of the piece, suggesting a structured weave or subtle directional pile. Its edges are sharp and clean, maintaining a flat silhouette that sits flush against the floor plane. This piece is intentionally understated, focusing on neutral colour and simple geometry to anchor a furniture arrangement without introducing complex patterns or distracting visual noise into the space.

The download is a 4.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this rug is best utilised as a base layer for interior visualisations. Users should align the object with the floor geometry, ensuring the pivot point is set to the base for easy placement. Because the model is a simple plane, applying a custom displacement map or a subtle bump map can enhance the appearance of the fabric grain. It is recommended to use the native material editor to adjust the diffuse and reflection values to match the scene's lighting environment.

This rug serves as a versatile element in contemporary residential living rooms, bedrooms, or minimalist office reception areas. It pairs well with modern seating groups, low-profile coffee tables, or desk arrangements where a grounding, neutral textile is required. Search for this item when looking to define zones within an open-plan layout or to add warmth to hard-surface flooring. It is a fundamental asset for staging staged interior shots, providing a cohesive look that complements both light and dark interior palettes.
