About this asset

This rectangular contemporary rug for 3ds Max features a deep blue distressed finish and a low-pile fabric texture. The rug presents a rectangular form with a subtle, distressed aesthetic that suggests a vintage-inspired wash or uneven dye application. The deep blue palette varies in intensity across the surface, creating a sense of depth and tactile interest. Its low-profile construction makes it suitable for layering under various furniture arrangements without creating significant trip hazards. The edges are finished cleanly, maintaining a sharp geometric boundary. This piece offers a versatile foundation for interior spaces, providing both visual weight and a soft textile element to balance hard flooring surfaces and minimalist furniture profiles.

The download is a 2.8 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Users should ensure the scale is adjusted to match the project floor plan requirements upon insertion. The material setup relies on a diffuse map for the colour variation and a bump or displacement map to simulate the fabric pile density. Standard practice involves placing the asset slightly above the floor surface to prevent Z-fighting, then applying a light-casting material to capture the subtle surface sheen characteristic of quality textile assets.

This rug is ideal for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or high-end hotel suites where a refined, contemporary atmosphere is required. It pairs effectively with minimalist sofa sets, mid-century modern coffee tables, or as a grounding element beneath a dining table. Professionals often search for this asset when specifying floor coverings that add character without overwhelming the surrounding decor. Its neutral yet rich blue tone makes it a reliable choice for both monochromatic palettes and spaces with complementary warm-toned accent furniture or brass lighting fixtures.
