About this asset

This rectangular Oriental coffee table, modelled for 3ds Max, features a dark wood frame with intricate lattice shelf detailing. Constructed with a deep-toned walnut-finish wood, this coffee table presents a distinct Oriental aesthetic defined by its geometric lattice lower shelf. The primary frame is robust and rectangular, supporting a clear glass inset top that reveals the complex woodwork beneath. The design balances solid timber elements with open, airy fretwork, creating a visual contrast between the heavy perimeter and the detailed interior storage area. Its low-profile architecture and clean, sharp lines ensure it functions as a central anchor point in a lounge space while maintaining a traditional, structured silhouette.

The download is a 1.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into a 3ds Max scene, ensure the glass material is assigned a high-quality refraction map to maintain transparency. The wood texture should be mapped using a standard UVW modifier to align the grain with the frame's orientation. Use the object's pivot point at the base for easy placement on floor planes. For lighting, consider using an area light above to capture the subtle shadows cast by the lattice shelf, enhancing the depth and material definition of the wood.

This coffee table is ideal for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel suites, or lounge areas that require a touch of traditional or fusion-style elegance. It pairs effectively with low-slung, minimalist sofas or plush, neutral-toned upholstery. Designers searching for 'Asian-inspired furniture', 'lattice wood tables', or 'geometric coffee tables' will find this piece useful for establishing a focal point in refined, culturally nuanced interiors. Its grounded form makes it suitable for both contemporary and classic settings that incorporate natural materials.
