About this asset

This wabi-sabi 3ds Max coffee table features a raw live-edge wood slab top supported by a sculptural matte black pedestal base. Defined by its raw, organic aesthetic, this coffee table showcases a thick, irregular live-edge wood slab that retains the natural character of the timber, including visible growth rings and bark-profile edges. The wood surface displays a rich, multi-tonal brown finish, contrasting with the dark, central core. Supporting this slab is a substantial, bulbous pedestal base finished in a solid matte black, providing a stable and grounding element to the design. A single book is included as a decorative accessory, resting on the tabletop to provide a sense of scale and materiality.

The download is a 6.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate this asset into a 3ds Max scene, users should import the model via a merge command to maintain layer structure and material assignments. The object is centred on its base, facilitating easy placement on floor planes. Designers should ensure the texture mapping on the live-edge slab is scaled appropriately to preserve the grain detail. Lighting setups should focus on highlighting the natural variations in the wood surface, using soft fill lights to prevent the black base from losing definition in shadow-heavy interior renders.

Ideal for residential living rooms, boutique hotel lounges, or high-end office reception areas, this coffee table serves as a strong focal point in interiors leaning towards wabi-sabi, organic modern, or rustic aesthetics. It pairs effectively with low-profile modular sofas or minimalist lounge seating. Professionals searching for naturalistic centerpieces, slab-top furniture, or sculptural accent tables will find this asset suitable for projects requiring a tactile, grounded atmosphere. It is particularly effective in spaces that prioritize artisanal textures and raw, honest materials alongside cleaner, contemporary architectural lines.
