About this asset

This neoclassical white painted wood fireplace mantel is a 3ds Max model featuring an integrated black metal insert and hearth tiles. This fireplace assembly features a traditional white-painted timber mantelpiece with fluted pilasters and decorative rosettes. The central frieze displays a classic swag relief detail, characteristic of neoclassical design. A dark, matte black metal insert provides a high-contrast focal point, complemented by a surround of square, dark-toned ceramic tiles that extend to the hearth floor. The proportions are balanced and symmetrical, designed to serve as a primary architectural feature within a living area or formal room. All components are modelled as a single unit, providing a clean, ready-to-use asset for interior visualisations.

The download is a 6.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this fireplace into a 3ds Max scene, ensure the base is aligned with the floor plane for accurate placement. The model is structured with distinct material IDs for the wood mantel, ceramic tiles, and metal insert, allowing for easy texture adjustments or colour variations. Users should check the pivot point location to facilitate snapping against wall surfaces. For realistic lighting, apply a subtle emissive material to the inner firebox area to simulate depth and shadow within the insert.

This asset is ideal for high-end residential projects, particularly in period-style homes, townhouses, or luxury apartment renovations. It acts as a sophisticated anchor for living rooms, drawing rooms, or master bedrooms requiring a formal, timeless aesthetic. Designers often pair this with period-appropriate furniture, crown moulding, and wall panelling to complete a traditional interior scheme. The model is effective for both heritage-inspired design proposals and contemporary spaces seeking a classic architectural contrast, providing a refined focal point for any interior render.
