About this asset

This modern modular children's bookshelf, modelled for 3ds Max, features rounded timber compartments and three numbered storage bins. Constructed from light-toned natural wood, this playful storage unit is defined by a series of interconnected, rounded-square apertures that form an irregular, stepped silhouette. The design incorporates multiple open cubbies for book organisation, topped with a flat surface that hosts three small, portable boxes finished in a light green with numbered faces. The organic, soft-edged geometry is specifically proportioned for children's spaces, balancing functional storage capacity with a friendly, approachable aesthetic. The unit includes a curated selection of decorative book assets, adding immediate visual density and realism to the composition.

The download is a 2.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is best managed by utilising the layer system to separate the shelving frame from the decorative books and storage boxes, allowing for easy placement and modification. The wood grain textures are mapped to the primary geometry, requiring standard material assignment if moved across scenes. When integrating into a project, ensure the pivot point is set to the base for precise positioning against walls or as a room divider within a nursery or play area.

Ideal for residential interior design, this bookshelf is well-suited for kids' bedrooms, nurseries, or dedicated playrooms. It pairs effectively with soft rugs, beanbags, and other light-toned wooden furniture to create a cohesive, inviting environment. Designers seeking a functional yet visually engaging storage solution for family-focused projects will find this model useful for populating children's interior visualisations. Search phrasings such as 'childrens room shelving', 'modular wooden storage', or 'nursery play area furniture' will help locate this model within a broader library of assets.
