About this asset

This wabi-sabi side table 3ds Max model features a solid wood log construction with natural grain detailing and a distinct hourglass form. Embodying organic minimalism, this side table is crafted from a single piece of light-toned timber, carved into a sculptural hourglass silhouette. The design highlights the raw beauty of the material, featuring characteristic radial cracking across the circular tabletop and vertical fissures along the base. Its compact, monolithic form provides a stable surface while functioning as a decorative accent piece. A small metallic maker's tag is inset near the base, adding a refined touch to the rustic aesthetic. The surface finish preserves the natural wood texture and light colouration, emphasizing its authentic, weathered appearance.

The download is a 21.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

This asset is provided as a 3ds Max model, ready for integration into interior scenes. When placing the object, ensure the pivot point is set to the base for precise positioning on floor planes. Scale the model to match specific project requirements, as log-based furniture often varies in diameter. Apply a high-quality wood grain map to the cylindrical surfaces to maintain realism in close-up shots, and use an HDRI environment to capture the subtle light reflections on the wood's polished finish.

Ideal for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or boutique hotel lobbies, this side table serves as an excellent feature piece in wabi-sabi or contemporary interiors. It pairs effectively with low-profile sofas, linen-upholstered armchairs, or minimalist bedroom schemes as a nightstand. Architects and interior designers searching for organic, nature-inspired furniture will find this piece useful for adding texture to neutral palettes. It is a versatile choice for projects requiring a blend of rustic charm and modern sculptural design in both contract and residential settings.
