About this asset

This modern red leather and chrome armchair 3ds Max model features a distinctive tufted cushion design and tubular steel frame. This modern armchair features a bold, tufted red leather seat and backrest supported by a minimalist, continuous tubular chrome-plated steel frame. The design employs a cantilevered aesthetic, where the seat appears to float above the floor. Black armrest pads are integrated into the top of the chrome frame, providing a sharp contrast to the vibrant upholstery. The cushions are deeply tufted, creating a structured, tactile surface that defines its mid-century inspired silhouette. Every element, from the clean lines of the metalwork to the precise grid of the tufting, emphasizes a balance of comfort and industrial elegance.

The download is a 32.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is structured with logical layer naming, allowing for easy selection of the frame and upholstery components. Users should ensure the material library is correctly mapped upon merging into a scene. The chrome frame is set up for realistic reflections, so placing it in a well-lit environment with an HDRI or vray/corona light setup is recommended to capture the material's specular highlights. Pivot points are correctly placed at the base for efficient placement on floor planes.

This armchair serves as a striking accent piece in contemporary residential living rooms, high-end office lobbies, or boutique hotel reception areas. It pairs well with glass-topped coffee tables, minimalist side tables, or as a standalone statement chair in a reading corner. Professionals searching for iconic lounge seating, leather accent chairs, or tubular steel furniture will find this asset versatile for various interior design projects, particularly those requiring a touch of mid-century modern flair or bold, saturated colour to anchor a space.
