Modern Black Plastic and Wood Bar Stool

This modern bar stool, provided as a SketchUp model, features a contoured black plastic seat supported by a light wood frame. This bar stool presents a clean, modern aesthetic defined by its minimalist silhouette. The seat is formed from a smooth, matte-finished black plastic shell, which is ergonomically contoured for comfort. This shell sits atop a four-legged frame crafted from light-toned natural wood, with legs that gently taper towards the floor. A slim, grey-painted metal footrest connects the four legs, providing structural stability and a functional resting point. The overall construction is spare and lightweight, balancing the organic warmth of the timber base against the sharp, industrial precision of the plastic seat and metal components.

The download is a 420 KB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this asset into a SketchUp scene, import the model and position it using the native move and rotate tools. The stool is structured as a component, allowing for easy selection and placement across kitchen islands or bar counters. Apply custom materials to the wood and plastic surfaces to match your project's specific colour palette or texture requirements. Ensure the model is placed on the correct layer or tag to maintain a clean and manageable file structure throughout the design development process.

This versatile bar stool is well-suited for contemporary kitchen island layouts, residential dining areas, and commercial cafe or bar fit-outs. Its neutral material palette and simple form allow it to complement a wide range of interior styles, from Scandinavian to minimalist. Designers should look for this piece when specifying seating for breakfast bars, high-top work surfaces, or casual hospitality spaces. It pairs effectively with stone or timber countertops and works well in both residential projects and boutique retail showroom environments.
