About this asset

This minimalist altar cabinet SketchUp model features a clean, natural wood construction with integrated lower storage and a slatted backdrop. Designed with a focus on simplicity and clean lines, this altar cabinet incorporates a tall, open-frame structure finished in a light natural wood tone. The upper section includes a fine-slatted screen backdrop, providing a subtle texture and depth. Below, a dedicated surface serves as a platform, while the base unit offers a concealed storage compartment with a central circular metallic pull, typical of traditional oriental-inspired furniture. The proportions are balanced, making it a functional yet unobtrusive piece suitable for contemplative spaces or as a unique accent in a modern interior setting.

The download is a 5.4 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy placement and orientation within a scene. Users should utilise the native material editor to adjust the wood grain mapping to suit specific lighting conditions. Given its lightweight structure, it can be efficiently placed against walls or within alcoves. Best practice involves ensuring the cabinet is correctly scaled to the project's floor plan before applying custom materials or adjusting the opacity of the slatted backdrop for realistic light filtration.

This piece is ideal for residential projects requiring a dedicated area for reflection or as a unique storage solution in living rooms and bedrooms. It complements minimalist and japandi interior styles, pairing well with natural materials and neutral palettes. Professionals might search for this asset when designing serene home environments, zen-inspired spaces, or when looking for distinctive cabinetry that balances traditional form with modern simplicity. It is particularly useful for adding authentic detail to high-end residential interior visualisations and architectural renderings.
