Mid-Century Walnut and Rattan Sideboard

This mid-century sideboard is a detailed SketchUp model featuring a walnut frame, eight rattan-fronted drawers, and brass-tipped feet. This sideboard showcases a classic mid-century aesthetic, defined by its rich walnut-brown finish and natural rattan cane webbing on the drawer fronts. The configuration consists of eight symmetrical drawers arranged in two vertical stacks of four, flanking a central solid wood panel. Small, circular brass-finish knobs provide a refined contrast to the organic wood and woven textures. The unit is supported by tapered wooden legs, each capped with a subtle brass ferrule. Its clean lines and balanced proportions make it a versatile piece for contemporary or vintage-inspired interiors, offering significant storage capacity.

The download is a 107 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy placement and alignment against walls. Users should verify the scale against their project's floor plan before final positioning. The textures are mapped to the geometry, and materials can be adjusted within the material tray to suit specific rendering requirements. Because the model includes distinct brass and rattan elements, it is useful to maintain these as separate layers for efficient material overrides or adjustments during the lighting process.

This sideboard is ideal for living rooms, dining areas, or entrance halls in residential projects. It serves as a functional storage solution that pairs well with minimalist decor, abstract wall art, or mid-century furniture pieces. Designers often search for this type of cabinet when creating warm, textured interior visualisations. It is particularly effective in projects aiming for a sophisticated, layered look, working harmoniously with neutral palettes and natural light to create a welcoming, high-end atmosphere in both new builds and renovations.
