About this asset

This mid-century 3ds Max armchair features a cream boucle upholstered seat and backrest supported by a sculptural natural wood frame. Defined by its organic, fluid lines, this armchair presents a distinct mid-century aesthetic. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a textured cream-coloured boucle fabric, accented with subtle button tufting on the curved back panel. The frame is constructed from solid wood with a warm, natural finish, featuring sweeping, ergonomic armrests that transition seamlessly into the tapered legs. The proportions are compact yet comfortable, making it an ideal accent piece. Every joint and curve is executed with a focus on mid-century craftsmanship, balancing soft textile elements against the structural integrity of the timber frame.

The download is a 31.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into a 3ds Max scene, ensure the object is placed on the floor plane using the pivot point at the base of the legs. The boucle texture is mapped to provide realistic depth, which can be adjusted via the material editor to suit specific lighting conditions. It is recommended to apply a high-quality HDRI environment map to capture the subtle light-catching qualities of the fabric weave and the warm highlights on the polished wooden frame surfaces.

This armchair is well-suited for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or boutique hotel lobbies where a touch of retro charm is required. It pairs effectively with minimalist wooden side tables, wool rugs, or floor lamps to complete a curated lounge area. Professionals looking for high-quality seating assets often search for sculptural accent chairs or mid-century revival furniture to add character to contemporary interiors. It integrates easily into various design schemes, from Scandinavian-inspired spaces to warm, layered transitional rooms.
