About this asset

This minimalist SketchUp model features a custom light wood storage unit designed to wrap around an existing window opening. Constructed with a clean, light wood finish, this floor-to-ceiling joinery unit provides a seamless architectural solution for window-adjacent storage. The design incorporates vertical full-height cupboards on both sides of the window, connected by a low-profile bench-style cabinet base that runs beneath the sill. This configuration creates a functional window nook, suitable for display or seating. The hardware-free, flat-panel doors maintain a consistent, uncluttered aesthetic, highlighting the natural wood grain. The internal geometry is organized for easy integration into interior wall assemblies, offering a cohesive look for modern residential living spaces or bedrooms.

The download is a 15.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To utilize this SketchUp component, import the file into your active model and place it against a wall with a corresponding window opening. The model is structured with grouped geometry, allowing for easy adjustment of the base or side units to fit specific room dimensions. Apply textures to the wood surfaces to match your project's material palette, and use the native scaling tools if minor adjustments are required to align with floor-to-ceiling heights or window reveals.

This storage unit is ideal for residential interiors, particularly in bedrooms, study areas, or living rooms where maximizing storage without sacrificing natural light is a priority. It functions as a bespoke joinery element, suitable for architects and interior designers working on high-end residential renovations or new-build projects. Use this model to create functional window seats or integrated library walls, effectively pairing it with soft furnishings or decorative accents to define a cozy, organized reading or workspace area.
