Grey Painted Wood Bookcase with Lower Cabinetry

This neoclassical grey painted wood bookcase, modelled for 3ds Max, features an integrated lower cabinet and asymmetric open shelving. This floor-to-ceiling storage unit is constructed from painted wood in a soft grey finish. The lower section consists of a three-door cabinet with classic panelled detailing and small metallic hardware. Above, the unit transitions into an open shelving system with asymmetrical vertical dividers, creating varied compartments for display. The interior back panel of the shelving is finished in a contrasting dark tone, highlighting the contents. The overall proportions are tall and slender, making it suitable for tight alcoves or as part of a larger wall-mounted library configuration.

The download is a 49.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, the model is organised into logical layers to facilitate material assignment and texture mapping adjustments. Users can easily modify the unit's height or width by manipulating the base mesh vertices, provided the UVW mapping is adjusted accordingly. The included decorative accessories are grouped as separate objects, allowing for quick removal or replacement to suit specific interior styles. Ensure the pivot point is set to the base for precise placement against a wall or within a custom joinery assembly.

This piece is ideal for high-end residential interiors, including home offices, living rooms, and private libraries. Its neoclassical aesthetic pairs well with traditional furniture, crown moulding, and sophisticated colour palettes. Professionals might search for this as a tall storage unit, built-in library, or display bookcase. It functions effectively in both formal and informal settings, providing a clean, organised look for staging books, sculpture, and other decorative items. Its neutral grey tone ensures versatility across various luxury and modern design schemes.
