About this asset

These contemporary grey fabric window curtains for 3ds Max feature a dual-layer design with a sheer layer and a pleated blackout drape. Designed with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, this window treatment consists of two distinct layers. The primary layer is a heavier, opaque fabric featuring deep, vertical pleats that create soft, natural folds from the top header to the floor. Behind this sits a lighter, semi-transparent sheer layer that provides diffuse light filtering. The assembly is set on a standard track system, with the drapes captured in a partially open position. The neutral grey tone offers a versatile finish suitable for various interior palettes, while the fabric texture is modelled to suggest a soft, matte drape quality.

The download is a 7.9 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, these curtains are provided as a single object assembly. Users should apply a two-sided material to ensure correct light interaction, especially for the sheer layer. The geometry is suitable for scaling to match specific window heights and widths, though care should be taken to maintain the scale of the pleats. The model can be easily positioned using standard snapping tools to align with window frames or ceiling tracks, and the material slots can be adjusted to control transparency and opacity levels.

These curtains are essential for adding realism to residential bedroom and living room visualisations. They pair effectively with modern interior styles, complementing minimalist furniture and neutral wall finishes. Architects and visualisers frequently search for these elements when staging hospitality projects, such as hotel guest rooms or high-end residential suites, where soft window treatments are required to define the space. They are particularly effective when placed against large glazing units to create a sense of scale, comfort, and finished detail in a project.
