Contemporary Walnut and White Open Shelving Room Divider

This contemporary walnut and white open shelving room divider for SketchUp features an asymmetrical grid and integrated display sections. Constructed with a rich walnut finish, this freestanding shelving unit functions as both storage and a spatial partition. The design integrates a central open-grid section with varied rectangular compartments for display, flanked by solid vertical panels with inset black accents. A low, white-fronted base cabinet provides enclosed storage at the floor level. The unit is double-sided, making it suitable for open-plan layouts. Its proportions are balanced, combining the warmth of natural wood grain with clean, modern lines and high-contrast finishes that define the structure without feeling overly heavy or obstructive within a space.

The download is a 287 KB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy selection and material application. Users should manage the geometry using the Outliner to toggle visibility or adjust specific shelf components. The walnut and white textures are mapped to standard faces, which can be easily replaced or adjusted via the Material Editor. Given its role as a room divider, ensure the model is correctly anchored to the floor plane and check that all face normals are oriented outwards to avoid rendering artefacts.

Ideal for residential open-plan living and dining areas, this shelving unit serves as a functional room divider or a primary feature wall for home offices and modern lounges. It pairs effectively with minimalist furniture and neutral interior palettes. Professionals often search for this asset when planning spatial transitions in apartments or boutique office reception areas. Use it to curate decorative objects, books, or media, ensuring it is positioned to allow light to penetrate the open-grid sections, maintaining the desired sense of spatial permeability.
