About this asset

This contemporary tan leather armchair for SketchUp features a distinct slatted wood frame and plush upholstered cushions. Defined by its balanced material contrast, this armchair features a seat and backrest upholstered in a textured tan leather. The structural support is provided by a curved, semi-circular frame composed of thin, vertical timber slats, offering a light and airy aesthetic that offsets the solid leather upholstery. The base is a smooth, block-like plinth in a slightly darker brown tone, creating a grounded silhouette. This piece combines organic wood elements with a refined leather finish, making it a versatile seating option for modern interior compositions requiring both comfort and visual interest.

The download is a 6.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

The geometry is clean, allowing for straightforward material application or adjustments to the wood grain orientation. Users should verify the scale against standard ergonomic dimensions before placement. For high-quality rendering, apply appropriate bump maps to the leather surfaces to enhance the texture depth, and utilise soft lighting to highlight the intricate detail of the slatted backrest within the scene.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading nooks in professional offices. Its compact, sculptural form works effectively as a standalone accent piece or paired in small groups for a conversational seating arrangement. Architects and interior designers often search for this type of lounge seating when specifying pieces that bridge the gap between traditional comfort and contemporary material expression. It integrates seamlessly into projects focused on warm, tactile, and well-curated interior environments.
