About this asset

This rectangular grey shaggy fabric rug for 3ds Max features a high-pile texture, ideal for creating soft, realistic floor finishes. This rectangular area rug is defined by its deep, shaggy pile, which provides a high-texture visual surface. The material appears to be a synthetic or wool-blend fabric with a varied, dense pile height that catches light to create natural shadowing. The colour palette is a neutral, mottled grey, ranging from light silver to darker charcoal tones, giving the object a realistic, organic appearance. Its clean, straight-edged rectangular profile makes it versatile for a variety of interior settings, adding warmth and tactile depth to hard floor surfaces in digital architectural visualisations.

The download is a 4.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this rug is best utilised by merging the geometry into your scene and applying a floor-level material override if necessary. Ensure the object is placed slightly above the floor plane to avoid z-fighting. Given the high-pile nature of the design, consider using a displacement modifier or a fur-based shader to enhance the depth of the fibres during rendering. The model is lightweight, making it suitable for populating large residential or hospitality spaces without significantly impacting overall scene performance.

This rug is suited for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or luxury hotel suites where a sense of comfort is required. It integrates well with minimalist or contemporary furniture arrangements, particularly under coffee tables or beside bed frames to ground the composition. Search for this item when looking for soft furnishings to break up hard surface materials like timber or stone flooring. It is a staple asset for interior designers and visualisers aiming to add realistic, lived-in character to their digital interior concepts.
