Contemporary Rectangular and Round Fabric Rug Set

This contemporary set of sixteen fabric rugs for SketchUp features diverse patterns and shapes for versatile interior floor detailing. This collection comprises sixteen distinct rug models, including both rectangular and circular profiles. The designs range from minimalist monochromatic greys and blacks to bold multicoloured geometric blocks, intricate classical motifs, and textured abstract patterns. Some models feature fringed edges or subtle chevron weaves, providing a varied visual language. These assets are modelled as flat planes, suitable for floor-level placement within a 3D environment. The set provides a comprehensive range of styles, allowing for quick iteration of floor finishes across different project types, from modern living spaces to traditional rooms.

The download is a 81.6 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 16 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these rugs are best utilized as flat components placed on floor surfaces. Because they are modelled as simple planes, they are lightweight and do not impact model performance significantly. Users should ensure the rug component is placed slightly above the floor plane to avoid Z-fighting during rendering. The materials are applied as textures, which can be easily swapped or scaled within the native material editor to suit specific room dimensions or design requirements.

These rugs are essential for adding warmth and texture to residential living rooms, bedrooms, or hotel suites. They serve as effective focal points in lounge areas or under dining sets, grounding furniture arrangements. Professionals will find them useful during the concept and design development stages to quickly test colour palettes and floor patterns. They pair well with various flooring materials such as hardwood, polished concrete, or ceramic tiles, helping to define zones within open-plan interiors or professional lobby spaces.
