About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max armchair features a mustard velvet upholstered shell with an integrated back cushion and tapered timber legs. The armchair exhibits an organic, flowing silhouette with a high, rounded backrest that tapers into integrated armrests. It is finished in a vibrant mustard-toned velvet fabric, providing a soft texture and deep visual warmth. A separate, plush seat cushion and a matching lower-back lumbar cushion are included, both maintaining the same fabric finish. The entire shell is supported by four slender, tapered legs crafted from natural-finished wood, which provide a clean contrast to the upholstered volume. The proportions are balanced for lounge comfort, with a low seat height and a reclined posture.

The download is a 22.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is structured as a single editable mesh object with separate material IDs for the upholstery and the wooden legs. Users should verify the scale against project units upon insertion. The fabric textures are mapped to accommodate the complex curvature of the shell, and the pivot point is positioned at the base of the legs for easy placement on floor planes. Standard material slots can be easily swapped for custom shaders to match specific lighting environments or interior colour palettes.

This armchair is well-suited for residential living room compositions, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading corners in a home office. It pairs effectively with minimalist side tables or as a statement piece in a neutral-toned interior. Architects and interior designers often specify this type of seating for its sculptural profile, which works well in both modern and mid-century inspired schemes. Search for this asset when looking for accent seating that provides a bold pop of colour while maintaining a sophisticated, soft-edged aesthetic.
