About this asset

This contemporary modular floor sofa in light grey fabric is a SketchUp model featuring a low-profile design with loose cushions. Characterised by its low-slung, boxy profile, this modular floor sofa offers a relaxed aesthetic suitable for informal living spaces. The piece consists of two primary base units covered in a neutral, light grey textured fabric. A set of matching loose cushions provides back support, adding a soft, lived-in quality to the otherwise structured, geometric form. The absence of traditional legs reinforces its grounded, minimalist appeal. Every seam is piped to maintain the shape of the upholstered blocks, ensuring a clean appearance while maintaining the comfort expected from a contemporary lounge piece.

The download is a 12.1 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this SketchUp model into your project, import the component directly into your scene file. Use the scale tool to adjust dimensions to fit your specific floor plan requirements, as the modular nature allows for flexible arrangements. Ensure the texture mapping is preserved upon import; you may need to adjust the material projection settings to maintain the scale of the fabric weave. Apply a light-grey material override in your preferred rendering engine to achieve consistent lighting and shadow results across your interior visualisations.

This floor sofa is ideal for modern residential interiors, particularly open-plan living rooms, media rooms, or casual lounge areas where a relaxed atmosphere is desired. It pairs effectively with low-profile coffee tables, textured area rugs, and minimalist decor. Designers often search for this type of seating when specifying furniture for loft apartments or studios that require adaptable, space-saving solutions. Its neutral colour palette allows it to blend seamlessly into various contemporary or minimalist design schemes, providing a comfortable focal point for social gatherings.
