About this asset

This contemporary grey velvet bar stool, modelled for 3ds Max, features a minimalist upholstered seat and a slender black metal frame. This bar stool features a compact, upholstered seat shell finished in a soft grey velvet fabric, providing a tactile and comfortable seating experience. The design is supported by a slender, four-legged metal frame finished in a matte black powder coat. A simple horizontal footrest connects the front legs, ensuring stability while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive silhouette. The proportions are balanced for standard counter heights, with a low-profile backrest that offers support without dominating the visual space. The stitching on the upholstery is precise, highlighting the curved edges of the seat shell.

The download is a 4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised with logical layer naming, allowing for easy selection and manipulation of the seat and frame components. Users should check the pivot point at the base of the legs to facilitate placement on floor planes. The velvet material uses standard texture mapping, which can be adjusted for scale or colour variations as required for specific interior scenes. Ensure correct units are set in the scene before merging to maintain accurate scale relative to other furniture assets.

Ideal for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, and commercial cafe settings, this stool integrates seamlessly into modern and contemporary interior schemes. It works well in residential open-plan living areas or boutique hotel bar zones where a refined, minimalist aesthetic is desired. Designers often pair this piece with marble or timber-topped counters to create a sophisticated contrast.
