Contemporary Grey Velvet 3-Seater Sofa with Tufted Arms

This contemporary 3-seater sofa in 3ds Max features grey velvet upholstery, deep-tufted armrests, and a sleek metallic base. Defined by its classic button-tufted side panels, this contemporary 3-seater sofa balances traditional detailing with modern structural lines. The frame is finished with a minimalist polished metal base that provides a clean, elevated aesthetic. The backrests and seat cushions are upholstered in a smooth, neutral grey velvet, complemented by two smaller accent cushions in a soft teal-blue tone. Its proportions are generous, intended for formal living areas or high-end lounge spaces. The tufting on the arms adds a tactile depth, contrasting with the otherwise streamlined silhouette of the seat and back cushions.

The download is a 13.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the pivot point is set to the base for precise floor-level placement. The velvet material uses a standard shader setup, requiring adjustments to the specular and glossiness maps to achieve realistic fabric highlights under your scene lighting. Check the scale against your room interior, as the sofa’s depth may require minor scaling to suit specific spatial requirements. Use the object’s layer structure to isolate the cushions if you need to create variations.

This piece is ideal for sophisticated residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, and executive reception areas. It pairs well with minimalist coffee tables or low-profile side tables that do not distract from the tufted arm detailing. Architects and interior designers often search for this type of velvet sofa to anchor a seating group in transitional or contemporary interiors. It works effectively in both light-filled open-plan spaces and more intimate, moody home cinema configurations where texture and comfort are the primary design drivers.
