About this asset

This contemporary grey fabric upholstered armchair is provided as a SketchUp model, featuring a curved back and light wood legs. This contemporary armchair features a compact, semi-circular backrest that wraps around to form integrated armrests, providing a cohesive, organic silhouette. The seat is fully upholstered in a textured grey fabric, which contrasts with the four splayed, tapered legs crafted from light natural wood. The proportions are balanced for use as an accent or dining chair, with a low-profile back that offers ergonomic support without overwhelming a space. The joinery between the legs and the upholstered seat base is clean, ensuring a seamless transition between the textile and timber elements.

The download is an 8.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, this model is managed via a single component or group, allowing for efficient placement and scaling within a project file. Users should verify the axis orientation upon import to ensure proper alignment with the floor plane. The material textures are applied to standard faces, making them easy to swap or adjust using the paint bucket tool to match specific interior schemes. For high-quality visualisations, users can apply additional bump maps to the fabric texture to enhance the perceived depth of the weave.

Ideal for residential living areas, boutique hotel lobbies, or modern office breakout zones, this armchair serves as a versatile piece for various interior styles. It pairs effectively with minimalist coffee tables or as a standalone accent chair in a reading corner. Designers often search for this type of seating when specifying furniture for contemporary residential projects or commercial hospitality interiors. Its neutral grey palette and natural wood finish allow it to integrate into both Scandinavian and mid-century modern design schemes with ease.
