About this asset

This contemporary curved sofa, modelled in SketchUp, features a high rattan backrest and grey fabric upholstery for a soft aesthetic. The sofa features a distinct semi-circular silhouette supported by tapered wooden legs in a natural finish. Its defining characteristic is the tall, wrap-around backrest constructed from a wooden frame with woven rattan infill, offering both visual texture and structural definition. The seat cushion is upholstered in a neutral grey fabric, complemented by a set of scatter cushions including solid grey and subtle striped patterns. A draped throw blanket with fringe detail adds a layer of casual comfort to the piece. The overall proportion is expansive, designed to serve as a central focal point.

The download is a 28.3 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy selection and material adjustment of the cushions, frame, and rattan backrest. Users should ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for seating to maintain scene organisation. The geometry is clean, suitable for quick placement in architectural visualisations. When rendering, apply high-quality fabric textures to the seat and use a subtle bump map on the rattan to enhance the depth and realism of the weave under interior lighting conditions.

This piece is well-suited for large residential living rooms, hotel lobbies, or boutique waiting areas where a statement seating element is required. It works effectively in open-plan layouts to help define zones or as a conversational piece in a lounge setting. Designers often pair this sofa with low-profile coffee tables or circular rugs to echo its curved geometry.
