About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max model of a grey fabric armchair features distinctive pleated back upholstery and slim tapered metal legs. This contemporary armchair is defined by its soft, rounded silhouette and structured detailing. The backrest and arms are wrapped in a textured grey fabric featuring vertical pleats that create a sophisticated, tailored appearance. In contrast, the seat cushion is upholstered in a deeper charcoal fabric, providing a subtle tonal variation. The entire frame is supported by four slender, tapered metal legs in a dark finish, which provide a clean, elevated profile. The design balances comfort with a refined aesthetic, making it a versatile piece for various interior settings that require a touch of modern elegance.

The download is a 14.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

The fabric textures are mapped to respond well to standard light setups, but you may need to adjust the tiling or bump map settings depending on your specific render engine. Using an HDRI or a soft area light will best highlight the depth of the pleated upholstery and the sheen of the metal legs. Keep the mesh on a dedicated layer for easy scene management.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or modern executive office suites. It functions effectively as an accent piece in a reading corner or as part of a larger seating arrangement alongside a minimalist sofa. Professionals seeking a contemporary lounge chair with a tactile, high-quality finish will find this piece ideal for interior visualizations. It pairs seamlessly with neutral-toned rugs and metallic side tables, enhancing the overall composition of a sophisticated, well-curated space in any architectural project.
