About this asset

This contemporary modular bookshelf for SketchUp features a striking combination of perforated green metal panels and natural wood shelves. This modular storage system consists of four vertical bays constructed from bright green perforated metal sheets that act as the structural frame. Each bay is fitted with horizontal timber shelves that provide a warm, organic contrast to the industrial aesthetic of the metal. The design is open-backed, allowing for light to pass through the circular perforations, creating a lightweight yet rigid appearance. The unit is accessorised with a collection of books positioned on various levels, demonstrating the functional capacity of the piece for home office or living room storage solutions.

The download is a 14.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into groups, allowing for easy manipulation of individual bays or repositioning of the timber shelves. Users should ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer to manage visibility, especially when populating scenes with multiple furniture assets. The materials are applied as standard textures, making it straightforward to replace the green finish or the wood grain if a different colour palette is required for your specific interior render or design scheme.

This shelving unit is well-suited for modern interior designs, particularly in home offices, contemporary living spaces, or creative studio environments. It functions effectively as a room divider due to its open, perforated structure, which maintains visual connectivity across a space. Architects and interior designers can utilise this piece to add a pop of colour to minimalist or industrial-themed projects.
