About this asset

This contemporary SketchUp model features a cream fabric armchair with a distinctive pleated backrest and a clean, minimalist silhouette. This contemporary armchair features a rounded, semi-circular backrest defined by vertical pleats that create a rhythmic, textural surface. The upholstery is a soft cream fabric, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic across the curved frame. The seat cushion is integrated into the base, providing a plush, deep-seated profile that suggests comfort. Its compact, low-slung design is supported by a hidden base, giving the piece a grounded appearance. The overall geometry is soft and organic, making it a versatile choice for interiors that prioritize clean lines and tactile materials without sacrificing visual interest.

The download is a 9.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this model into SketchUp, ensure the component is placed on a dedicated layer for easy visibility toggling. Users should check the face orientation to ensure textures map correctly. Given its organic form, applying a high-quality fabric texture with appropriate bump mapping will enhance the realism of the pleats during rendering. The model is scaled for standard residential use, though it can be easily adjusted using the scale tool if specific project requirements dictate a different size for a particular interior space.

This armchair is ideal for residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading nooks in modern homes. Its neutral cream palette allows it to pair seamlessly with various wood tones, metallic accents, or contrasting bold colour schemes. Architects and interior designers often use such pieces as accent seating to soften the geometry of a room.
