About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max shelving unit features a large charcoal-finished frame contrasted by a central natural wood grid display. The unit is defined by its bold, architectural composition, consisting of a large, deep-profile charcoal-grey frame that houses a series of vertical dividers. Centrally positioned is a dense, square-patterned grid crafted from natural wood, providing a warm aesthetic contrast to the dark, monochromatic outer structure. This combination of open, tall vertical compartments and compact, gridded display cubbies allows for a diverse range of styling options. The piece is designed for high-impact visual organisation, balancing minimalist dark tones with the organic texture of the timber interior. It is a substantial, rectilinear wall-anchored storage solution.

The download is a 21.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is typically managed as a single grouped object for easy placement against interior walls. The material IDs are clearly separated, allowing for quick adjustments to the charcoal finish or wood grain mapping. Users should check the pivot point at the base for accurate floor-level alignment. Due to the geometric complexity of the central grid, it is recommended to apply a high-quality UV map to ensure the timber texture flows consistently across the individual small panels.

This shelving unit is ideal for modern living rooms, executive home offices, or high-end retail displays where both storage and aesthetic presentation are required. It functions effectively as a focal point or a room-dividing element when backed against a feature wall. Professionals might search for this as a contemporary display case, modular wall storage, or a designer feature shelf. It pairs well with minimalist furniture and neutral palettes, serving as an effective backdrop for curated accessories, books, and decorative objects in residential or commercial projects.
