About this asset

This contemporary brown fabric oval bench, modelled in 3ds Max, features a textured upholstered surface and a draped knitted throw. This oval bench features a clean, low-profile silhouette upholstered in a dark brown fabric with visible horizontal stitching along the perimeter. The seat is supported by short, dark-finished feet, providing a grounded aesthetic suitable for various interior settings. Draped across the top is a thick, light grey knitted throw, which introduces a contrasting tactile element to the smooth, structured form of the bench. The piece is compact, offering a versatile seating or footrest option that balances soft textures with a minimalist, functional geometry, making it an effective addition to modern living spaces.

The download is a 12.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this 3ds Max model into a project, ensure the object pivot is correctly aligned to the floor plane for easy placement. The mesh is optimized for standard interior workflows, allowing for straightforward material adjustments to the fabric and throw shaders. Users can easily scale the unit to fit specific room dimensions or swap the texture maps to match existing interior palettes. Keep the knitted throw as a separate sub-object layer to allow for repositioning or removal depending on the desired scene composition.

This bench is ideal for residential bedrooms, walk-in closets, or as an accent piece in a contemporary living room. It functions well at the foot of a bed or as flexible seating in a dressing area. Designers often search for this type of furniture when looking for soft, oval-shaped ottomans or benches that add comfort without overwhelming a space. It pairs effectively with minimalist bedroom furniture, textured rugs, and neutral colour schemes, serving as both a decorative element and a practical seating solution.
