Contemporary Black Wooden Bookshelf with X-Frame Detailing

This contemporary black wooden bookshelf is a SketchUp model featuring a tall, dual-bay design with distinctive X-frame side supports. Standing tall with a dual-bay configuration, this bookshelf exhibits a contemporary aesthetic defined by its dark finish and geometric side structure. The frame incorporates recurring X-pattern bracing on the lateral faces, providing both structural stability and visual interest. It features five horizontal tiers of shelving, topped with a decorative cornice moulding that includes subtle carved detailing at the header. The model comes pre-populated with a selection of small decorative accessories, including vases and books, which are integrated into the shelving layout to demonstrate scale and context for interior visualization purposes.

The download is a 26.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model should be managed using grouped components to maintain file performance. Users can easily toggle the visibility of the included decorative accessories by managing the nested component layers. The material application is straightforward, allowing for quick adjustments to the wood grain or stain colour via the material editor. When positioning the unit, use the base as the primary snap point to ensure flush alignment against walls or within recessed joinery, and consider applying a simple point light to highlight the shelving contents.
